Apprehension of an Alleged Predator
Law‑enforcement officers in Faridabad have taken a 40‑year‑old male into custody after linking him to two separate cases where lone senior women were reportedly coaxed under the guise of a complimentary ride home.
How the Incidents Unfolded
Both complaints were lodged at the Bhupani police‑station on 18 September and 19 September. In each instance, the victims said a motorcyclist approached them, promised a safe passage, and then diverted the vehicle toward a deserted stretch of road.
One survivor recounted that the man made the offer even while her husband stood nearby, insisting he would drop her at her doorstep before veering off to a secluded spot where the assault occurred.
Investigative Trail
Initial attempts to trace the perpetrator through nearby CCTV feeds produced no definitive clues. Detectives therefore mobilised their local intelligence network, canvassed the neighbourhood and consulted informants to reconstruct the suspect’s movements.
After roughly ten to fifteen days of intensive field work, an informant supplied a tip that enabled officers to locate the man’s hideout. He was subsequently arrested and presented for questioning.
Interrogation and Ongoing Probe
During the interview, the accused is reported to have acknowledged involvement in the two assaults. Investigators are now scrutinising his background to ascertain whether he may be linked to other similar offences in the region.
"The community’s vigilance is crucial. Unsolicited offers of transport, especially to vulnerable individuals, must be reported immediately," a senior police official emphasized.
Next Legal Steps
Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and authorities will continue gathering forensic and testimonial evidence to substantiate the allegations and explore any further connections to the suspect.
