Chandigarh — During a recent delegation to Singapore, Haryana’s chief minister Nayab Singh Saini transformed the trip into a road‑show for investment prospects that stretch far beyond the state’s flagship corporate hub, Gurugram.
On the third day of the visit, Saini sat down with representatives from more than a dozen companies, urging them to explore projects that range from high‑tech manufacturing to cutting‑edge infrastructure for emerging industries.
New Cities in the Spotlight
The administration intends to replicate a slice of Gurugram’s vibrant technology ecosystem in other strategic locations. Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat and Rohtak are being earmarked as the next generation of tech‑centric growth poles for multinational enterprises.
Officials contend that these cities offer a potent blend of skilled labour, robust connectivity, cost‑effective operating environments and rapidly upgrading urban amenities—an enticing proposition for investors.
Priority Sectors
Talks in Singapore highlighted several focus areas: semiconductors, electronics, green‑energy solutions, data‑centre development, advanced manufacturing, warehousing and digital‑infrastructure services.
Saini emphasized Haryana’s strategic position within the Delhi‑NCR, its mature industrial base and seamless road‑and‑freight links as decisive advantages for firms eyeing a foothold in northern India.
The state is also courting Singapore‑based firms to establish technology hubs, global capability centres and related operations within its borders.
Data‑Centre Policy 2026 Gets Special Emphasis
Data infrastructure emerged as a marquee theme. Haryana has unveiled a New Data Centre Policy‑2026 that streamlines land allocation, power supply, ancillary facilities and regulatory clearances for data‑centre projects.
The overarching aim is to craft a friendlier investment climate that fast‑tracks the rollout of large‑scale data facilities.
Logistics and Infrastructure Edge
Haryana is leveraging its extensive network of expressways, national highways, industrial corridors and freight hubs to strengthen its pitch to global investors.
Because the state sits at the crossroads of major manufacturing and consumption zones in North India, officials argue it offers a natural advantage for logistics and supply‑chain activities. Singapore’s expertise in logistics and urban planning could spark joint initiatives.
Accelerated Government Support
Saini assured prospective investors that the Haryana administration would provide hands‑on assistance at every stage of project implementation, from proposal review to on‑the‑ground execution.
Expedited approval processes and dedicated administrative support are being promoted as hallmarks of the state’s drive to become a more competitive destination for foreign business.
Job Creation at the Core
The investment push is not solely about capital inflow; it also aims to generate quality employment for local youth and to stimulate demand for industry‑relevant skills.
Through its outreach in Singapore, Haryana hopes to broaden its industrial footprint beyond Gurugram, forging stronger international partnerships that fuel technology adoption, manufacturing growth and infrastructure development across the region.
