Getting Ready for the National Conference
Minister Rekha Arya, who heads Uttarakhand’s Women Empowerment and Child Development portfolio, gathered senior officials at her Yamuna Colony residence in Dehradun to polish the state’s showcase for the two‑day national departmental summit slated for 8–9 October in New Delhi.
Core Themes to be Presented
The briefing centred on the state’s flagship initiatives covering women’s safety, empowerment, nutrition, Anganwadi services and child‑protection mechanisms. Participants were tasked with weaving a compelling storyline that highlights Uttarakhand’s strides and pioneering approaches.
Learning from Other States
Arya underscored that the conference offers a unique platform to glean best‑practice lessons from peer regions. By analysing successful models elsewhere, Uttarakhand aims to fine‑tune its own welfare delivery systems.
Minister’s Outlook and Prime Minister’s Guidance
Calling the event a source of pride, the minister noted that the summit will culminate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharing his vision. Arya believes his perspective could shape future policy directions for women and child welfare nationwide.
Officials Involved in the Review
The coordination session was attended by Secretary Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Additional Secretary Karmendra Singh, Director Banshilal Rana and several senior officers, who examined the presentation deck and logistical arrangements line by line.
