Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative—aimed at deepening youth involvement in Uttarakhand’s growth—will unfold on 18 September. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across the state to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
More Than 2.67 Lakh Students Contributed Their Views
Roughly three lakh students from classes 11 and 12 took part in the online drive. A total of 267,744 entries poured in, covering topics such as education, jobs, tourism, environment, migration, technology, health, and self‑employment.
A panel of experts screened these submissions and selected 140 candidates whose ideas stood out for originality and impact. These students now have a direct line to the Chief Minister.
Senior Bureaucrats Will Join the Dialogue
To translate youthful ideas into actionable policies, senior officials from the Departments of Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will also meet the students. Their role is to grasp the youngsters’ perspectives on development, employment prospects, and the state’s future.
Scholarships Worth Up to ₹2 Lakh for Each Selected Student
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme, each of the 140 finalists will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh. The funds are earmarked for career‑preparation coaching and other post‑12th‑grade support, a commitment announced by CM Dhami during the campaign launch.
Embedding Youth Ideas into Government Schemes
Chief Minister Dhami affirmed that genuine, well‑researched suggestions from the student cohort will be woven into Uttarakhand’s policy framework. He stressed that tapping into the creativity and energy of young people is essential for charting a progressive future for the state.
“Our young citizens hold the blueprint for a vibrant Uttarakhand. By listening to them, we can turn their dreams into reality,” said CM Dhami.
The 18 September gathering will therefore serve as a pivotal platform, allowing the selected students to present their proposals directly to the Chief Minister and engage with senior administrators on a range of development challenges.
