Senior Student Brandishes Homemade Pistol at Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College

On Thursday, a senior pupil stormed the grounds of Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar, carrying a locally‑crafted pistol. He pretended to be paying his tuition, slipped past the locked main gate and headed straight for a classroom where a Class 10 learner was seated.

Gunfire Erupts, Campus Descends into Panic

Inside the room, the teenager allegedly fired the weapon. Although the bullet missed its intended target, the loud blast sent shockwaves through the school, prompting an immediate scramble. Principal Anurag Jain, together with other faculty members, rushed in. In the ensuing confrontation, the assailant also aimed the gun at the principal.

What Sparked the Violence?

The senior claimed that the younger student and his friends had verbally abused and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliation for an incident in which the Class 10 group allegedly struck the senior with sticks two days prior.

Teachers Defuse the Situation, Police Arrive

Through calm negotiation, the teaching staff managed to disarm the gunman and secure the pistol along with two cartridges. Law‑enforcement officials were called to the scene, recovered the weapon and placed the accused in custody for further questioning.

Principal’s View on Campus Safety

Principal Jain noted that the student's claim of coming to pay fees initially lowered suspicion, as the college gate remains locked after students enter, limiting escape routes. He commended the staff’s swift action for averting a potentially tragic outcome.

Investigation Ongoing

Investigators are now reconstructing the timeline of the earlier altercation and the subsequent shooting. The Class 10 student emerged unharmed, and the case remains under active police scrutiny.
