Commercial LPG Prices Spike Across Delhi

Major oil marketers have raised the cost of a 19‑kg commercial LPG cylinder by more than ₹60 in several Indian cities. The exact increment differs from one market to another due to local tax regimes, but the overall pattern is clear: businesses will face steeper cooking‑gas bills just as the festive season kicks in.

By contrast, domestic LPG cylinders for household use remain unchanged, giving home cooks a brief respite.

New Pricing in the Capital

In Delhi, the latest revision adds ₹62.50 to the commercial cylinder price, pushing the total to ₹2,810 per unit. This follows a modest ₹9.50 increase that was introduced in September.

The timing is crucial. Festive celebrations typically trigger a surge in gas demand from hotels, restaurants, catering services and roadside eateries. Consequently, the higher cylinder price is set to lift operating costs for these establishments.

Possible Repercussions for Food‑Service Operators

From five‑star hotels to small food stalls, commercial LPG is the lifeblood of kitchen operations. Even a seemingly modest hike can create noticeable financial pressure:

  • Large hotels may see a tangible rise in utility expenses.
  • Mid‑size restaurants could experience tighter profit margins, prompting them to reconsider menu pricing.
  • Small roadside vendors and catering units might find it hard to absorb the added cost without passing some of it on to patrons.

Business owners will need to decide whether to absorb the extra expense themselves or reflect it in the prices of dishes and services. As the holiday season approaches, these choices could subtly shape the price tags diners encounter.

While residential consumers escape a price jump for their home LPG connections, the commercial sector must brace for higher fuel costs during one of the busiest periods of the year.
