Muzaffarpur. In a rapid raid close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables of the Kazimohammadpur police station captured two men found in possession of 80 grams of ganja. The detainees were escorted to the station where SHO Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set the legal process in motion.

Extended Sweep and Ongoing Investigation

Following the arrests, the team conducted night‑time searches at several sites identified during the suspects’ interrogation. Investigators are now sifting through the leads to delineate a larger drug‑trafficking ring.

In recent weeks, authorities have made more than two dozen arrests across the area, confiscating a variety of narcotics, including:

  • Cannabis (ganja)
  • Smack
  • Heroin
  • Brown sugar

Operation Spreads to Vaishali

The anti‑narcotics drive has now extended into the neighboring Vaishali district. Three days earlier, police in Ahiyapur raided a location near the Bairiya Bus Stand, seizing 28.06 kg of ganja and apprehending Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur.

Further questioning revealed additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier in the week, a joint task force recovered 185 grams of heroin and smack from three suspected couriers near Chandni Chowk. The three men—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been remanded, and the probe continues to uncover more connections within the network.
