Metro stations sealed

In anticipation of a large gathering at Jantar Mantar, authorities have halted passenger flow at eleven Delhi Metro stations. The closures affect Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Lok Kalyan Marg, INA, Chawri Bazar, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg and New Delhi. While the turnstiles remain locked, the connecting passageways at many of these hubs stay accessible for commuters switching lines.

Police presence amplified

Additional police units have been positioned around Jantar Mantar and neighbouring streets, with barricades erected at vulnerable points. Surveillance has been intensified and security checks heightened, while the administration has also imposed restrictive orders for the New Delhi district.

Traffic advisories

The Delhi Traffic Police have warned of severe bottlenecks on routes leading to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Patel Chowk and Sansad Marg. Motorists are advised to plan alternative paths and avoid the identified congestion zones.

Looking ahead

The station shutdowns are a component of the broader safety strategy. Officials will keep a close watch on the situation and may modify access rules should circumstances change.
