Incident Summary
Haridwar – In the Dhanouri‑Pirankaliyar locality, a sudden structural failure caused a portion of Amrit Law College to collapse near the restroom block. The unexpected failure sent a cascade of concrete and masonry tumbling, startling students and staff as a Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) platoon was stationed on the premises.
Rescue Efforts
Witnesses immediately reported that a PAC personnel had become trapped under the falling debris, prompting a swift emergency response. Officers from the Kaliyar police station, along with personnel from the Dhanouri outpost, arrived within minutes. Rescue squads began the painstaking task of clearing the rubble, carefully extracting concrete slabs and broken bricks while searching for the injured jawan.
After a focused, time‑critical operation, rescuers succeeded in pulling the trapped officer out of the wreckage and moving him to a secure area for medical evaluation.
Aftermath and Medical Treatment
The rescued PAC member, together with several other staff members who suffered minor injuries, were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. Police officials conducted an initial survey of the collapse zone, documenting damage and recording statements from on‑site witnesses.
