What the IGNOU recruitment drive entails

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in New Delhi has launched a fresh hiring round for fourteen non‑teaching posts. Issued under Advertisement No. 69/2026/Admn., the notice seeks candidates for the posts of Assistant Director, Technical Manager and Technical Assistant.

Post details, vacancies and eligibility criteria

Assistant Director – 2 posts

Applicants should possess a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks and a minimum of ten years’ relevant experience. The upper age limit is 48 years and the post falls under Pay Level‑10.

Technical Manager – 4 posts

Candidates need a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in the relevant discipline, 55 % minimum marks and five years of experience. The age ceiling is 42 years; the salary is also on Pay Level‑10.

Technical Assistant – 8 posts

The qualifications mirror the other posts: a BE/B‑Tech, M.Sc. or MCA in Computer Science/IT with at least 55 % marks. The maximum age is 37 years and the remuneration follows Pay Level‑8.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Central Government norms for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex‑servicemen and government employees.

Application process and fee structure

The online portal will be active from 3 October 2026 and will close at 23:59:59 on 2 November 2026. Application fees are Rs 1,000 for General, OBC‑NCL and EWS candidates, and Rs 500 for SC, ST, PwD, ex‑servicemen and women. Payments can be made via debit/credit card, net‑banking or mobile‑wallet.

Selection procedure

Depending on the designation, IGNOU may assess applicants through qualification screening, experience verification, written or computer‑based tests, skill‑based assessments and personal interviews. Aspirants should refer to the official notification for the exact criteria applicable to their chosen post.

Hard‑copy submission – mandatory step

Filling the online form is only half the journey. After submitting electronically, candidates must print the application, attach self‑attested copies of all required certificates (educational, experience and category, where relevant) and dispatch the packet to the university.

All hard copies must be received by the Recruitment Cell no later than 12 November 2026.
