New Delhi – Police in the capital have taken a 32‑year‑old suspect into custody following a rape allegation lodged by a 43‑year‑old woman from the Keshav Puram neighbourhood. The accused has been identified as Vikas, who resides in Tri Nagar.
Alleged Lure Through a Bogus Eye Examination
The victim alleges that Vikas invited her to his home by claiming he could conduct an eye‑check‑up for her. Once inside the residence, she says she was rendered unconscious and subsequently subjected to sexual assault.
FIR Filed on the Woman’s Complaint
Acting on the woman’s statement, officers at Keshav Puram Police Station registered a First Information Report under the applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR set the investigative process in motion, culminating in the suspect’s arrest.
Ongoing Investigation and Evidence Gathering
Detectives are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, collecting forensic evidence, and interviewing witnesses. Further legal action will be determined based on the outcomes of the probe.
