Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affirmed that the people of Uttarakhand yearn for both stability and progress, and that his administration is steering the state’s development in line with that aspiration. By foregrounding public‑welfare schemes, the government aims to ensure that the fruits of growth reach every citizen.

The remarks were delivered during the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ gathering, hosted by the Adda Insider newspaper at a hotel on Rajpur Road.

Core Guiding Principle: Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third

Dhami reiterated that his party’s foundational ethos in public life remains ‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third.’ He emphasized that the administration is fully committed to translating this mantra into tangible development across the hills.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep ties with Uttarakhand, the CM noted that the Prime Minister has visited the state 28 times since taking office. He added that the central government has also placed border‑area development high on its agenda, especially after the Prime Minister labelled Mana as the nation’s ‘First Village.’

Tourism and Sustainable Growth on the Rise

According to Dhami, Uttarakhand is making strides in multiple sectors under the Prime Minister’s guidance. The state now tops the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index nationwide and has earned national accolades for its tourism initiatives.

He highlighted Uttarakhand’s growing reputation as a hotspot for film‑shoots, adventure tourism and destination weddings.

Empowering Youth Through Employment and Entrepreneurship

The Chief Minister pointed out that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047 hinges on the active participation of the youth. Consequently, the state government is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment.

Dhami shared that he prefers to converse with young people not as a chief minister but as a friend, believing that listening to their ideas fuels his own enthusiasm.

Ensuring Transparency in Government Recruitment

To bolster confidence in the hiring process, the government has enacted a strict anti‑cheating law. Dhami said this measure has reassured diligent candidates that merit, not manipulation, determines selection.

He disclosed that roughly 35,000 young individuals have been appointed to various government roles over the past five years.

Reclaiming Public Land From Encroachment

Efforts continue to safeguard Uttarakhand’s natural character by clearing illegal settlements on state property. To date, more than 13,000 acres of government land have been liberated from encroachment.

The administration’s goal, Dhami explained, is to extend development initiatives to the most remote corners while offering young talent the platforms they need to thrive.
